Taking the strain out of hanging fused glass.
Tired of making your own hangers to put into your fused pieces? Made from high-temperature nickel-chromium metal and able to withstand 2000°, these hangers will secure your pieces with confidence. These unique shapes will help them stay put between the fused glass pieces. They will not lose shape or color during firing and can withstand multiple firings.
First, determine where you need the hanger to be placed for the best hanging balance of the piece.
Place hanger with loop just above the top edge of glass. You may wish to lightly tack hanger in place to avoid shifting.
Next, place another piece of glass over the hanger. Sandwiching the hanger between the two pieces of glass. Please note: Frit may not be enough material to fuse the hanger in place.
Place the piece in kiln. Fiber paper may be placed under hanger to prevent slumping. Fire according to project firing schedule. This hanger is capable of withstanding multiple firings up to 2000°.
Allow kiln to cool to 100°, before removing the piece.
Your project is now ready to hang.
